Delhi, India, January 2026 — Shatakshi Sharma has started a new role as Founder & Chief Executive Officer of The Swades Project, marking a decisive return to India after building an international career across public policy, management consulting, and global institutions in the United States, the Middle East, and beyond.
In her new role, Shatakshi is building The Swades Project as a purpose-driven platform aimed at enabling ambitious, globally trained Indians returning from abroad to translate sharp thinking into real, sustainable ventures. The initiative focuses on supporting founders from their first dollar to becoming full-time solopreneurs, anchored in strategy, execution tools, and a deeply aligned community. Rooted in her personal journey, the platform embeds an antifragile mental framework designed to help entrepreneurs navigate ambiguity with clarity, resilience, and conviction.
Alongside The Swades Project, Shatakshi continues as Founder & CEO of the Global Governance Initiative (GGI), which she has led since 2018. Under her leadership, GGI developed the GGI Impact MBA—an alternative MBA model delivering globally benchmarked outcomes at a fraction of traditional costs. The program has received international recognition, including features by Poets & Quants and coverage by BCG Global Media, and has built a global community spanning consulting, public policy, product management, and impact investing.
She is also the Founder of Global Tech Initiative.org, launched to create advanced outcomes in artificial intelligence, data science, and technology product management through industry-led case-based learning, mentorship, and global employment partnerships.
Previously, Shatakshi worked as a Senior Associate at Boston Consulting Group, advising senior leaders across public sector, FMCG, edtech, and media on climate change, strategic investments, go-to-market strategies, and growth initiatives. Her work has been featured within BCG’s global alumni networks.
Her global policy experience includes serving as an Advisor (Middle East Region) at the Tony Blair Institute for Global Change, where she advised Middle Eastern governments on foreign affairs and economic policy thought leadership, working closely with teams associated with former UK Prime Minister Tony Blair. Earlier, she was Project Manager (Strategy) with the Government of India, driving high-priority governance initiatives from the Chairman’s Office of the Quality Council of India.
Shatakshi began her career in strategy and consulting roles with organizations including nearbuy (formerly Groupon India) and a boutique management consulting firm, building a strong foundation in strategic analysis, execution, and institution-building across sectors.
She holds an MBA from the Indian School of Business and completed a semester cross-registration in Technology Entrepreneurship and Public Sector Innovations at Harvard Business School.
