Mumabi, India, March 2025 – Shri Vikas Kaushal has assumed charge as the Chairman & Managing Director (C&MD) of Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Ltd. (HPCL), a Maharatna Oil Company, effective March 17, 2025.

Shri Kaushal is a seasoned global leader with over three decades of experience in the energy domain. A Chemical Engineering graduate from DCET, Panjab University, he also holds an MBA from the Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad.

Shri Kaushal began his career with ICICI Limited in Project Finance and Advisory Services before transitioning into global management consulting. Since 2000, he has been associated with A.T. Kearney, where he played a pivotal role in expanding the firm’s business in India.

As a Partner for over 17 years, he led several high-impact initiatives, including serving as the Global Leader for Energy and Process Industries, where he managed a portfolio of major global energy clients, including international oil and gas majors. He also held the role of Managing Director and Country Head for A.T. Kearney India for five years and was Chairman of India Business until recently.

A two-time elected member of A.T. Kearney’s Global Board of Directors, Shri Kaushal has also chaired the Finance & Audit and Governance Committees of the board, bringing extensive leadership in strategic planning, corporate governance, and financial management.

With deep expertise in oil & gas, power, renewables, and new energies, Shri Kaushal has been a trusted advisor to India’s leading state-owned oil & gas companies, including HPCL, Indian Oil, BPCL, and GAIL, guiding them through large-scale transformation programs. He has also provided strategic counsel to global energy firms, shaping key industry initiatives.

An expert in energy transition, Shri Kaushal has authored several influential thought pieces on oil & gas, power, and chemicals and is a regular speaker at national and international conferences.

Matthew Breitfelder is Partner and Global Head of Human Capital at Apollo, where he focuses on attracting extraordinary talent to the firm and creating an innovative, inclusive, high-performance culture that brings out the best in Apollo’s people. Matt leads Apollo’s recruiting, talent management, compensation, succession planning, citizenship, employee relations, development, and culture work. He is also a member of the firm’s Leadership Team. Matt is committed to expanding opportunities across Apollo’s workplace, marketplace, and communities. Prior to joining Apollo, Matt was Chief Talent Officer at BlackRock as well as a member of the Operating Committee. Previously, he held strategy, talent, and innovation roles at Mastercard, PwC, and CEB/Gartner.

Matt holds a BA in Economics from the University of Southern California, an MSc from the London School of Economics, and an MBA from Harvard Business School. He currently serves on the boards of the Lumina Foundation, the Aspen Institute’s Business and Society program, the Milken Institute’s Inclusive Capitalism initiative, and Georgetown University’s initiative on AI, Analytics, and the Future of Work. He is the co-author of numerous Harvard Business School case studies and articles on leadership. Matt has been recognized as a Top Global CHRO multiple times by n2Growth and Stanford Business School.
