Sydney, New South Wales, Australia, June 2024 – Sian Lees has been appointed as the Acting Head of HR – Westpac Institutional Bank at Westpac. With extensive experience in human resources and strategic HR support, Sian is set to lead HR operations and drive key initiatives within the Westpac Institutional Bank.

Sian Lees has been with Westpac for approximately 1.5 years. Prior to her current role, she served as an HR Business Partner for about 1.5 years. In this capacity, Sian provided strategic HR support for the WIB Chief Operating Office, Corporate & Institutional Bank, and Financial Markets. She was responsible for business talent reviews and succession planning, organizational change and workforce design, employee engagement and action planning, embedding a high-performing culture, employee training and development, annual remuneration review, employee relations and advice, people plans, and recruitment.

Before joining Westpac, Sian worked at the Met Office in the UK for nearly 5 years. She held the position of Human Resources Business Manager for 1 year and was the HR Operations Team Leader for approximately 3.5 years. During her tenure, she managed HR operations and contributed significantly to the organizational HR strategies.

Earlier in her career, Sian was an HR and Recruitment Consultant at AlixPartners in London for about 1 year. In this role, she supported various HR and recruitment initiatives for the organization.

Sian also has previous experience with Westpac in Australia, where she served as an HR Consultant, Commercial & Agribusiness Banking for about 7 months and as a Recruitment Consultant, St George Retail Banking for nearly 2 years.
