Mumbai, Maharashtra, India, November 2024 – Smriti Parikh has assumed the dual role of Chief Financial Officer (CFO) and Vice President of Corporate Affairs at TotalEnergies, bringing over two decades of robust experience in finance, risk management, compliance, and business reorganization. In this capacity, Smriti will oversee critical financial and corporate functions, steering the company’s strategic growth initiatives in India.
Smriti Parikh joined TotalEnergies over five years ago, initially serving as Vice President – Compliance and Internal Control. In this role, she executed anti-corruption and anti-fraud programs, drove compliance initiatives, and streamlined internal audits and risk management frameworks. Her efforts resulted in significant cost efficiencies, including annual savings of INR 2 crores.
Earlier in 2023, Smriti took on the role of Country Compliance – India & Vice President – Compliance & Internal Control, where she managed compliance programs for multiple entities, implemented GDPR-aligned data protection strategies, and spearheaded fraud investigations.
Before joining TotalEnergies, Smriti served as General Manager – Audit & Control at Bombay Dyeing, where she established a robust internal audit function and implemented an Internal Financial Control (IFC) framework, resulting in operational efficiencies of 15%. Her tenure also included driving process improvement projects and managing compliance automation.
At TATA Power, Smriti played a pivotal role in setting up the Group-level internal audit function. Her contributions included designing COSO and IFC frameworks, aligning risk management processes, and winning the IIA Innovation Award for excellence in audit practices.
Her earlier experiences span roles at Deloitte Haskins & Sells, KPMG UK, and A F Ferguson & Co, where she developed her expertise in Sarbanes-Oxley compliance, financial audits, and risk analysis.
