Folsom, California, United States, December 2025 — Sriram Akella has taken on a new role as Director of Customer Solutions at Micron Technology, joining the Core Datacenter Business. In this capacity, he will focus on delivering system-level customer solutions, building on his extensive engineering leadership experience within Micron’s global storage and memory ecosystem.
In his most recent role at Micron Technology, Sriram Akella served for over four years as Director of Engineering, Client & Consumer SSD (cSSD) based in Hyderabad, Telangana, India. During this phase, he led Micron India’s Client and Consumer SSD Engineering and Labs, overseeing multi-year product roadmaps, cross-functional engineering execution across hardware, software, validation, and system architecture, and scaling high-performing teams while maintaining strong delivery discipline.
Before this, he spent over a year as Senior Engineering Manager at Micron Technology in Longmont, Colorado, where he led strategic validation for enterprise SSDs, managing large engineering teams and aligning customer requirements with product integration and time-to-market acceleration.
Earlier in his career, Sriram Akella held progressively senior engineering leadership roles at Intel Corporation over nearly eight years in Folsom, California, including Engineering Manager and Validation Engineering Lead. His work focused on firmware quality, PCIe-NVMe SSD validation, customer platform integration, and building globally distributed engineering teams. His tenure at Intel was marked by multiple internal awards recognizing innovation and improvements in validation velocity and field support.
He began his professional journey in the storage and semiconductor domain with roles at LSI Corporation (Avago Technologies) and earlier technical and academic assignments, including teaching assistantships at the University of Colorado Boulder, where he supported advanced coursework in network management and international telecom policy.
