Hartford, Connecticut, United States, November 2025 — Stephanie O’Keefe has transitioned into a new role as Human Resources Principal at The Cigna Group, where she will support key focus areas including Talent Management, Workforce Analytics, and Total Rewards. Reflecting on her career shift from finance and strategy into people leadership, Stephanie shared that this role allows her to apply her strengths in strategic planning, analytical thinking, stakeholder management, and problem-solving in a way that enhances employee experience and organizational impact.
Prior to stepping into this new position, O’Keefe served for nearly nine months as Senior Principal, Strategy Enablement within The Cigna Group, where she managed strategic investment portfolios, led enterprise reporting, and supported executive-level decision making. Her work centered on aligning strategic priorities to operational execution and enhancing customer and provider outcomes.
Before that, she spent close to three years as Chief of Staff to the SVP of Affordability within Cigna Healthcare, driving governance and execution across key affordability programs. Her work involved cross-enterprise collaboration, initiative coordination, and organizational effectiveness to support Cigna’s affordability strategy.
Earlier in her tenure with The Cigna Group, O’Keefe contributed approximately six years through the Experienced Financial Development Program where she held multiple roles across the Strategy Execution Office, Integration Management Office, finance operations, and accounting policy. Throughout this period, she strengthened her expertise in enterprise value realization, regulatory alignment, financial oversight, and business portfolio integration.
Before joining Cigna, she built foundational experience over four years at ESPN, progressing from Staff Accountant to Senior Financial Analyst, where she supported budgeting methodologies, global forecasting, process improvements across international markets, and large-scale financial modeling. Her career began at BlumShapiro, spending nearly two years supporting audit, financial reporting, and client engagements across multiple industries.
