Gurugram, Haryana, India, April 2025 – Sumeer Mathur has been appointed as the new Chief Strategy Director at McCann Worldgroup India, and is set to formally join by the end of April 2025. In his new role, Sumeer will lead the strategic vision for the agency’s clients across sectors, driving integrated, data-backed solutions and brand-building excellence in one of India’s most competitive creative markets.
Prior to joining McCann Worldgroup, Sumeer was the Chief Strategy Officer at Dentsu Creative, where he played a pivotal role in shaping brand narratives and strategic direction for high-impact campaigns across India over nearly three years.
Before Dentsu, he served as National Strategy Head and Managing Partner at Havas Group, where he oversaw the planning function nationally and led strategic initiatives across key accounts and verticals.
Earlier, at Edelman, Sumeer was Senior Vice President and National Planning & Strategy Head, playing a central role in strengthening brand communication and thought leadership at the intersection of PR and strategy.
Over the course of his career, Sumeer has held key leadership roles at DDB Mudra Group, JWT, Rediffusion Y&R, and Lowe Lintas, where he led strategic work for brands like Royal Enfield, Mars-Wrigley, Airtel, Unilever, UNICEF, HSBC, and Colgate-Palmolive, among others. He brings over two decades of experience in brand planning, creative strategy, and integrated marketing.
