Mumbai, Maharashtra, India, October 2025 — Bajel Projects Ltd, a leading power infrastructure company under the Bajaj Group, has announced the appointment of Sumiit Mehtta as Vice President (Head of Execution). With over two decades of leadership experience in the engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) sector, Sumiit brings a strong track record in project execution, governance, and operational excellence across large-scale infrastructure developments.

In his new role, Sumiit will lead Bajel’s execution strategy, overseeing project delivery, risk management, and quality assurance across its business verticals. His appointment marks a strategic move by Bajel Projects Ltd to further strengthen its leadership capabilities and ensure timely, precision-driven project outcomes in the energy and infrastructure domains.

Before joining Bajel, Sumiit served as Head of Projects at the Adani Group, where he successfully led major energy and infrastructure initiatives across India. During his tenure, he was instrumental in driving operational efficiency, implementing project control mechanisms, and ensuring on-time delivery of complex EPC assignments.

Prior to Adani, Sumiit spent over a decade at Tata Projects Ltd, rising through the ranks to become General Manager & Business Head – Power Transmission, Substations & Railways. He earned three consecutive “Best Project Manager” awards, reflecting his exceptional leadership in execution excellence and people management. Earlier in his career, he also contributed to project management and client delivery excellence at Gammon India Ltd, where he gained hands-on experience in planning, construction, and stakeholder engagement.

An alumnus of the Institute of Management Technology, Ghaziabad, where he earned his MBA in Operations Management, Sumiit also holds a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical and Instrumentation Engineering. He has further enhanced his managerial acumen through executive programs in Business Strategy and Leadership at the Indian Institute of Management Ahmedabad, Indian Institute of Management Calcutta, and Tata Management Training Centre (TMTC), Pune.
