Chennai, Tamil Nadu, India, February 2025 – Apollo Hospitals has announced the appointment of Sushmita Bandopadhyay as its new Vice President of Corporate Communications. With over two decades of experience in strategic communication, public relations, and corporate branding, she will play a pivotal role in enhancing Apollo’s reputation, managing stakeholder engagement, and driving key communication initiatives.
In her new role, Sushmita will be responsible for leading Apollo’s corporate communications strategy, strengthening media relations, and amplifying the hospital’s thought leadership in the healthcare industry. Her expertise in crisis communication, employer branding, and integrated marketing campaigns will be instrumental in positioning Apollo Hospitals as a leader in patient care, innovation, and healthcare excellence.

Prior to joining Apollo Hospitals, Sushmita served as Executive Vice President at Weber Shandwick, where she led strategic communication initiatives, crisis management strategies, and corporate social responsibility (CSR) campaigns. Her leadership was instrumental in developing impactful messaging frameworks and driving communication strategies for global and domestic clients.
Before Weber Shandwick, she spent nearly 11 years at BD India, where she served as Communications Leader. In this role, she spearheaded internal and external communications, policy advocacy, and market-shaping initiatives, significantly strengthening the company’s corporate identity and stakeholder outreach.
Earlier in her career, she held leadership roles at Perfect Relations and Good Relations, managing brand reputation, media strategies, and corporate messaging for leading multinational brands. She also worked at Concept PR India Ltd., focusing on media planning and IPO-related communication strategies.
