Mumbai, Maharashtra, India, August 2025 — Waterfield Advisors has appointed Swappnna Varun (She/Her) as Director – Human Resources, bringing nearly 20 years of expertise in strategic HR, talent acquisition, and organizational development. In her new role, Swappnna will spearhead the firm’s people strategy, focusing on aligning HR initiatives with business growth, leadership development, and employee well-being. Known for her ability to foster inclusive, performance-driven cultures, she will design scalable talent frameworks that support both innovation and resilience at the firm.
Over the past year, Swappnna led critical talent acquisition projects at Jio Financial Services, where she played a key role in establishing the hiring architecture for JioBlackRock. Prior to that, she served at Barclays as Vice President & Head of Programmatic (Campus) Recruitment for APAC and Talent Acquisition Lead for BI India, driving recruitment strategies across the Asia-Pacific region.
Earlier in her career, Swappnna held leadership roles including Country Head – Human Resources at TechnoServe, and Assistant Vice President – Professional & Campus Hiring at Deutsche Bank, where she managed large-scale hiring programs and organizational development initiatives. She also worked as HR Business Manager at RBS, and in talent acquisition roles at Edelweiss Capital, AMSEC, HDFC securities, and Lehman Brothers, building her expertise across financial services and mission-driven organizations.
Swappnna holds a Post Graduate Certificate in Human Resource Management from XLRI Jamshedpur and a Bachelor’s degree in Mass Media from the University of Mumbai. Her diverse experience across financial institutions and development sector organizations uniquely positions her to shape the evolving people agenda at Waterfield Advisors.
