Udaipur, Rajasthan, India, March 2026 — Taj Hotels has announced the appointment of Harsh Champawat as General Manager – Taj Aravali Resort & Spa, Udaipur, as he begins a new chapter leading the luxury resort’s operations and guest experience in one of India’s most iconic hospitality destinations.
In his new role, Champawat will oversee the overall business performance of Taj Aravali Resort & Spa, Udaipur, with a focus on service excellence, guest satisfaction, team leadership, and operational efficiency—strengthening the property’s positioning within Taj Hotels’ premium resort portfolio.
Prior to this appointment, Champawat served as Hotel Manager at Fairmont Hotels & Resorts in Udaipur, where he supported end-to-end hotel operations and contributed to delivering elevated guest experiences and strong operational outcomes.
He brings deep leadership experience from his long tenure with Taj Hotels, where he held key operational roles including Hotel Manager (New York, United States), Director of Operations (New Delhi), and Director of Operations – Task Force (London Area, United Kingdom). Across these assignments, he built strong expertise in multi-department hotel management, business strategy, guest service leadership, and operational execution in high-performance environments.
Earlier in his journey, Champawat led Food & Beverage operations as Director of Food & Beverage in New Delhi and Jodhpur, and progressed through foundational leadership roles including Assistant Director of Food & Beverage, Banquet Manager, and Restaurant Manager. He began his career with the Taj Management Trainee – Operations program and gained early luxury hospitality exposure through training stints at Taj Umaid Bhawan Palace, Taj Mahal Hotel, New Delhi, Taj Residency Aurangabad, and Taj Lake Palace, including being part of an opening team and contributing to SOP development for a signature restaurant.
