Bengaluru, Karnataka, India, September 2025 – Cognizant has appointed Thirumala (Thiru) Arohi as Chief Learning Officer. He will be reporting to Kathy Diaz, Chief People Officer, Cognizant.
Thiru brings over three decades of experience, most recently serving as Executive Vice President and Head of Education, Training & Assessment, and Learning Platforms at Infosys. He is widely recognized for his leadership in building scalable learning ecosystems and driving innovation in digital education. His earlier roles in delivery leadership provide him with a unique, business-centric perspective on how learning directly enables performance, growth, and strategic outcomes.
Thiru arrives at a pivotal moment in Cognizant’s journey to take enterprise learning to the next level and redefine the future of work in the age of AI. He will lead Cognizant’s global learning and development function, further elevating the company’s award-winning L&D and positioning Cognizant as a leader in upskilling and workforce transformation. Thiru will be responsible for the entire learning ecosystem—reimagining learning programs and platforms, exploring innovative upskilling models and strategic partnerships, and driving thought leadership that shapes the global narrative on talent, technology, and the future of work.
Thiru spent more than 28 years at Infosys, where he rose through the ranks to become Executive Vice President, Senior Vice President, and Head of Education, Training & Assessments. In these roles, he transformed learning initiatives, led talent development at scale, and advanced the company’s innovation in digital learning platforms.
Earlier in his career at Infosys, he served as Associate Vice President and Senior Delivery Manager, Delivery Head for Financial Services, and in several delivery management positions, gaining deep exposure to technology services and client-centric operations. His journey reflects a strong balance between delivery leadership and learning transformation.
Before Infosys, Thiru began his career as an Engineer at Sanghi Polyesters Ltd, followed by roles at APSEB and later moved into testing, commissioning, and delivery management, which laid the foundation for his career in IT services and education leadership.
Thiru holds a B.Tech in Electrical & Electronics from Acharya Nagarjuna University and completed the Infosys Global Leadership Program at Stanford University Graduate School of Business (2017–2018), further strengthening his executive leadership and strategic management expertise.
