Oslo, Norway, February 2026 – Statkraft has appointed Tor M Lønnum as its new Chief Financial Officer (CFO), bringing more than 25 years of senior financial leadership experience from large Nordic and international companies.
Commenting on the appointment, Birgitte Ringstad Vartdal, President and CEO at Statkraft, said:
“I am confident that Tor will be a strong contributor to Statkraft’s success going forward. His experience from regulated, capital-intensive and customer-oriented businesses is exactly what we need as we implement our strategy and steer through a demanding market.”
Tor has held several top executive roles including CEO, deputy CEO, and CFO across leading organisations. Most recently, he served as CFO/CEO at Kverva AS, and currently continues as Advisor to the company. Prior to that, he was CFO and member of Executive Management at Falck, where he led financial strategy and governance in a large international services organisation.
Earlier, Tor served as CFO and member of Executive Management at Tryg, and before that as Deputy CEO and CFO at Gjensidige Forsikring ASA, playing a central role in financial leadership and strategic execution. His board experience is equally extensive, having served as Member of the Board of Directors at Gjensidige (where he chairs the Risk Committee), TGS (as Audit Committee Chair), Bakkafrost, and SpareBank 1 SR-Bank, as well as Chairman/member of the board at Lindorff. Earlier in his career, he worked as a Manager at KPMG, building a strong foundation in finance and audit.
With broad experience across regulated, capital-intensive, and customer-oriented industries, Tor brings deep financial stewardship expertise to Statkraft at a time of evolving energy markets and strategic transformation.
