Mumbai, Maharashtra, India, September 2025 – Ujwal Parekh has taken on the role of Chief Investment Officer (CIO) at LICHFL Asset Management Company (LICHFL AMC), the private equity vertical of the LIC Group. In this pivotal leadership role, he will be responsible for driving the investment strategy, leading fundraising initiatives across asset classes, expanding AUM, growing the P&L and balance sheet, and steering the organization toward its future goal of AMC listing.
Prior to this appointment, Ujwal Parekh spent a decade at Nippon India Mutual Fund, where he most recently served as National Lead – Real Estate Investments. During his time at Nippon Life India AIF, he played a critical role in real estate private equity, structured credit, project finance, land acquisition funding, and construction finance. His deep knowledge of the AIF regime and his ability to structure complex financial instruments positioned him as a key driver of the firm’s real estate portfolio.
Earlier, he was associated with Landmark Capital as Principal – Investments, where he focused on fund raising, investor relations, deal sourcing, and closure of strategic joint ventures and developer funding under the AIF framework. His work also extended to managing stake sales and enabling project-level financing solutions.
Before Landmark, he held leadership roles at Reliance AIF (Reliance Capital Group) and Milestone Capital Advisors, where he worked on real estate private equity, structured credit, and venture capital fund structures. He gained extensive experience in financial modeling, due diligence, and capital structuring, helping shape investor confidence and deliver strong deal outcomes.
Ujwal began his professional career at Ernst & Young Global Consulting Services as a Senior Consultant, where he gained foundational exposure to financial consulting, risk advisory, and strategy. This analytical rigor and consulting background laid the groundwork for his future roles in investment management.
