New Delhi, Delhi, India, April 2026 – SAEL has announced the appointment of Umang Khurana as Chief Strategy Officer (CSO). In this role, he will lead Strategy, M&A, Investor Relations, Risk, and Corporate Communications, strengthening SAEL’s strategic direction as it accelerates its growth in the renewable energy sector.
In his new role at SAEL, Umang Khurana will be responsible for driving enterprise-wide strategy and enabling value creation through strategic investments, risk management, and stakeholder engagement, supporting the company’s expansion across solar and waste-to-energy platforms.
Prior to this, he spent over a decade at Hero MotoCorp, where he most recently served as Head of Investor Relations & Business Support. In this capacity, he worked closely with the Chairman’s office, playing a critical role in investor engagement, strategic decision support, and business alignment across the organization. He also held the combined role of Chief Risk Officer and Head of Investor Relations, strengthening governance, risk frameworks, and capital market communication.
Earlier, he had a brief stint as Head of Investor Relations at OYO, further expanding his exposure to high-growth, dynamic business environments.
His consulting and advisory experience includes leadership roles at KPMG, where he worked in Capital Markets and Investor Relations Advisory, as well as earlier roles at Ranbaxy, where he led Strategic Decision Support and Investor Relations, contributing to corporate strategy, capital allocation, and stakeholder management for a large listed entity.
He began his career with roles at Ernst & Young and KPMG, building strong foundations in audit, process consulting, and corporate finance, along with entrepreneurial experience in the automotive sector.
Umang holds an MBA in Strategy & Finance from London Business School, further strengthening his expertise in strategic leadership and financial management.
