Milan/Düsseldorf, Italy/Germany, April 2025 – Valerio De Martino has joined YOKOHAMA Europe as the Chief Human Resources Officer, ICT, General & Institutional Affairs. In this newly assumed role, Valerio will drive the regional HR and institutional agenda while strengthening digital and organizational capabilities to support Yokohama’s continued growth across the European region.
Prior to this appointment, Valerio served as Group Human Resources Director at MERMEC, where he led HR transformation for over two years, supporting operations across Italy and beyond with a strategic focus on organizational development and talent alignment.

Before that, he spent six years with Prometeon Tyre Group, holding multiple senior HR roles including Head of Global Industrial Relations, HSE & Global HRBP, Head of Global Learning & Development, and Head of HR Global Commercial Operations. During this period, he played a crucial role in global HR strategy, business partnering, and cultural transformation initiatives across multiple regions including Europe and the Middle East.
Valerio’s earlier tenure at Pirelli, spanning nearly a decade, saw him rise through the ranks in industrial HR leadership, including key roles such as Head of HR EMEA for Pirelli Industrial and HR Plant Manager at various locations in Italy and Turkey. His HR foundation was laid at Trenitalia, where he contributed to development and selection initiatives early in his career.
