Brisbane, Queensland, Australia, September 2025 – Vanessa Tooley has been appointed as the new Head of HR Business Partnering for Australia and New Zealand at Abano Healthcare Group, marking a key leadership addition to the region’s largest dental support organization. In her new role, Vanessa will drive strategic HR partnering across both countries, supporting over 250 dental practices and 750+ clinical partners under brands such as Maven Dental, Lumino The Dentists, and 1300 Smiles.
Prior to this appointment, Vanessa Tooley served as Founding Director of Step Out HR Services, where she supported business transformation and HR function establishment for growing organizations. Her consulting model reflected her commercial acumen and people-first mindset.
Before that, she held the position of Head of Human Resources at Brighter Super for over a year, where she led strategic HR initiatives aligned with culture change and leadership development. She was also Group People & Culture Manager at Aeroklas Asia Pacific Group, where she provided HR leadership across a diverse manufacturing and automotive solutions group.
Vanessa’s notable earlier role was with St Vincent’s Health Australia, where she led a national HRBP team as HR Manager – Business Partnering for St Vincent’s Care Services, supporting 3,200+ employees across aged care, independent living, and community home care services across QLD, NSW, and VIC.
Earlier in her career, she worked as Senior HR Manager at Super Retail Group, General Manager HR at Ashdown-Ingram (GPC Asia Pacific) for nearly a decade, and held key HR roles at Hanes Brands Australasia, Pacific Brands, Nurse Maude Association, and Telecom New Zealand.
