Noida, Uttar Pradesh, India, July 2024 – Varun Kohli has taken on a new role as Chief Operating Officer at Times Network. Bringing extensive experience in media and broadcasting, Varun is set to lead the operational strategies and drive growth for the network.
Varun Kohli joins Times Network from Bharat Express, where he served as Chief Executive Officer for approximately 1 year and 6 months. In this role, he led the organization to new heights, enhancing operational efficiency and expanding the network’s reach.
Prior to Bharat Express, Varun was at Sporty Media Solutionz Pvt Ltd. for about 10 months as Chief Executive Officer. He played a crucial role in acquiring and marketing media rights of sporting properties across the globe, and facilitated the sale of the digital initiative Inside Sport to a multinational company.
Varun also served as Group CEO at iTV Network- India News & News X for around 5 years and 1 month, where he headed 10 channels, making the company profitable and launching the Pro Wrestling League, which became profitable in its first year.
His earlier roles include CEO of iTV Network India News for approximately 1 year and 7 months, COO & Revenue Head at iTV Network for about 1 year and 8 months, and Senior V.P at TV18 Broadcast Limited for around 1 year and 5 months, where he managed sales and marketing for IBN7.
Varun’s career also includes significant tenures at DNA Newspapers Limited, Mogae Media Pvt Ltd, Mail Today Newspapers ltd, Benett Colman & Company ltd, Deccan Chronicle Holdings ltd, Amar Ujala Publications Ltd, and Hindustan Times, where he held various leadership positions and contributed to the growth and profitability of each organization.
