Gurugram, Haryana, India, April 2026 — Indus Towers Limited has announced that Venkatesh Tiwari has assumed charge as its Chief Operating Officer (COO). With extensive leadership experience across telecommunications, e-commerce, logistics, and consumer businesses, he steps into the role at a pivotal stage in the company’s growth journey, with a focus on operational excellence and business transformation.
Venkatesh joins Indus Towers after nearly nine years with Amazon, where he most recently served as Director Operations – Amazon Now (Quick Commerce), Fresh, Same Day Delivery, Seller Fulfillment & Third-Party Integration. In this role, he led Amazon India’s operations across ultra-fast commerce, grocery, same-day delivery, seller fulfillment, transportation procurement, and third-party logistics partnerships. Earlier, as Director Operations – Transportation (ATS), Specialty Handling (AMXL) and Amazon Shipping, he led the country’s middle-mile logistics network, built multimodal transportation capabilities, launched Amazon Air in India, and expanded commercial logistics offerings.
Prior to Amazon, Venkatesh held leadership positions across Huawei Consumer Business Group, Samsung Electronics, and Bharti Airtel, where he led large-scale operations, sales, customer service, and market expansion initiatives across multiple regions. During his tenure at Airtel, he served as VP Sales & Marketing – Kolkata & West Bengal, Head Operations – Odisha, Head Customer Service – Rajasthan, and Zonal Business Manager, driving revenue growth, operational excellence, customer experience, and network expansion. Earlier in his career, he also held sales leadership roles at ICICI Prudential Life Insurance, Perfetti Van Melle India Limited, and AkzoNobel, building broad expertise across consumer goods, financial services, and industrial sectors.
An alumnus of SVKM’s Narsee Monjee Institute of Management Studies (NMIMS), where he completed a PGDBA in Marketing and International Business, Venkatesh brings close to three decades of leadership experience in operations, supply chain, customer experience, and business transformation to his new role at Indus Towers.
