Panama City, Panamá, September 2025 — Banesco Panamá has appointed Veronica Barrera Ramirez as Vice President – Human Resources, marking a significant addition to the bank’s leadership team. In this role, Veronica will spearhead the Human Resources strategy, foster a culture of excellence and engagement, and lead initiatives aimed at enhancing employee experience and positioning Banesco Panamá as an employer of choice in the financial services sector.

Veronica brings over 15 years of international HR leadership experience to the role. Most recently, she served as Managing Director at Ubuntu Human Resources, where she advised organisations on developing robust people strategies and talent development frameworks. In parallel, she held the role of Head of Human Resources for the Southern Cone of Central America at Castillo Hermanos, overseeing HR operations across Panama, Costa Rica, the Dominican Republic, Honduras, Bolivia, and the Caribbean.

Before this, she built a distinguished 13-year career with Procter & Gamble, culminating in her role as Director of Human Resources for P&G Colombia. During her tenure, she was honoured with the CEO Award in 2020, recognising her as part of the top 3% of global performers for leading culture transformation, work–life balance, and inclusion initiatives. Earlier in her journey at P&G, she drove employee relations and HR strategy in Panama, where she implemented key policy reforms and successfully mitigated major compliance risks.

Veronica began her professional career as an Intern in Internal Controls and Audit at AGN Jimenez & Asociados Ltda, gaining early insights into governance and compliance frameworks. Her diverse background across industries and geographies has equipped her with deep expertise in organisational design, human capital strategy, and talent management.

With this appointment, Banesco Panamá reinforces its commitment to fostering a dynamic, people-centric workplace culture while continuing its growth in the Panamanian financial services landscape.
