Pune, Maharashtra, India, July 2026 — Wellington College International Pune has announced the appointment of Nigel Fossey MBE, as its new Master for the academic year 2026–27, marking a significant step in strengthening the institution’s academic and leadership vision.
With a distinguished international career spanning over three decades, Fossey brings extensive experience in academic leadership, institutional development, and global education. Born and educated in the UK, he is a graduate of the University of Oxford (Brasenose College) and has held senior leadership roles across Europe, the Middle East, and Latin America. He most recently served as Principal of The Sultan’s School in Oman.
A respected voice in international education, Fossey has contributed widely beyond school leadership. He has served as a School Governor and on the Executive Committee of the Council of British International Schools (COBIS). His experience also includes Board roles with the Association of British Schools Overseas and The British Chamber of Commerce in Panamá. In addition, he is a Trustee of The Global College of Engineering and Technology in Muscat.
Fossey is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts and a strong advocate for unlocking every child’s potential. Over the years, he has led the introduction of the High-Performance Learning framework across schools in Spain and Panama, strengthening academic outcomes and institutional performance.
In recognition of his services to British education overseas, Fossey was awarded an MBE (Member of the Order of the British Empire) in January 2024.
