Johannesburg, Gauteng, South Africa, March 2026 – Tiger Brands has announced the appointment of Werna Oberholzer to its Executive Committee as Chief Corporate Affairs and Sustainability Officer, effective 1 March 2026. In this role, Oberholzer will oversee the company’s corporate affairs, sustainability, and stakeholder engagement agenda, supporting the organization’s mission of cultivating and nourishing lives while strengthening its commitment to responsible and sustainable business practices.
Oberholzer joined Tiger Brands in 2021 as Director of Corporate Communications, where she led the group’s corporate communications strategy for one of Africa’s largest listed food and consumer goods manufacturers. In January 2025, she was appointed Corporate Affairs and Sustainability Director, successfully leading the Corporate Affairs and Sustainability team. During her tenure, she played a pivotal role in integrating Tiger Brands’ Transformation, Enterprise Supplier Development, and Socio-economic Development initiatives with broader business priorities, while introducing stronger frameworks for stakeholder engagement and corporate reputation management. She also led the development and launch of the company’s new corporate brand identity, strengthening Tiger Brands’ positioning with internal and external stakeholders.
Before joining Tiger Brands, Oberholzer held senior roles at The South African Breweries and Anheuser-Busch InBev Africa, where she led employee communications, engagement, and internal communication strategies across multiple African markets. She also founded Red Crane Consulting, advising organizations on internal communications, leadership communication, employee engagement, and crisis communication strategies. Her earlier career includes leadership roles in communications and stakeholder engagement with organizations such as Meropa Communications, Kilimanjaro Communication Management Consultants, and Text 100, where she worked with major brands including Microsoft South Africa.
Known for her purpose-driven leadership and commitment to sustainable business practices, Oberholzer has built a reputation for leading integrated communication strategies, strengthening corporate reputation, and aligning stakeholder engagement with long-term organizational goals.
