London, UK, June 2026 — Westgarth Wines, the specialist fine wine retailer, today announces its official launch into the European market with the opening of Westgarth Wines in London. To lead this expansion, the firm has appointed industry heavyweight Steve Weids as Director of Sales, signalling a major move to capture the European private client sector with unparalleled access to the world’s rarest and most prestigious wines.
Westgarth Wines offers its clients a passport to the world of fine wine, featuring portfolio curation, storage solutions, and exclusive access to global wine culture, including private château dinners and bespoke elite tastings.
Steve Weids brings over three decades of fine wine experience to the group, having held pivotal leadership positions at some of the world’s most respected wine institutions. Most recently, Weids served as a Sales Director at Fine+Rare, following a stint as Head of Europe at Zachys Wine Auctions. Earlier, he served as Head of Sales at Atlas Fine Wines and spent a decade at Armit Wines as Head of Private Clients. He has also appeared as a wine specialist on the BBC.
“I am thrilled to join Westgarth at such a transformative moment,” said Steve Weids. “Today’s collectors want an authentic connection to the producers and the stories behind the labels. We are building something that offers that level of intimacy combined with the institutional rigour Westgarth is known for.”
“The UK remains the global heartbeat of the fine wine trade,” said Alexander Westgarth, CEO of Westgarth Wines. “By launching Westgarth Wines in Europe and bringing a leader of Steve’s calibre on board, we want to redefine the private client experience.”
