New Delhi, Delhi, India, July 2024 – Dhiraj Gyani has been promoted to the position of Chief Operating Officer at IndiaTech.Org. In this new role, Dhiraj will focus on unlocking business potential through effective government engagement, helping members achieve significant milestones and scale operations.
Dhiraj Gyani has been with IndiaTech.Org for over a year. Most recently, he served as the Senior Director – Policy & Operations, where he dedicated himself to addressing public policy and regulatory challenges faced by Indian tech startups. He championed the development and implementation of advocacy strategies, outreach plans, and regulations in collaboration with industry stakeholders, government entities, and regulators. His work supported B2C and B2B tech startups across diverse sectors, contributing significantly to their growth and success.
Before joining IndiaTech.Org, Dhiraj was the Director of Government Affairs & Education Business (GitHub) at Microsoft for nearly three years. In this role, he fostered and evangelized GitHub to government, academia, and startups. He served as a legislative advisor, implementing regulatory strategies to ensure the endorsement and use of Microsoft products by various government entities. His efforts increased the usage of GitHub in several projects of national importance, including CoWin and Aarogya Setu.
Prior to his role at GitHub, Dhiraj served as the India Marketing Director (Government and Enterprise Business) at Microsoft. He led the digital transformation outreach agenda, generated demand, and built a strong pipeline of qualified leads. He was recognized with the Microsoft Gold Club Award for his extraordinary performance and contributions to the success and growth of Microsoft’s India business.
Dhiraj began his career at the Project Management Institute (PMI), where he established the Government Relations practice in India. He focused on advocating the significance of project management among Indian federal and state government bodies, driving a 340% growth in the adoption of PMI certifications and standards in the public sector.
