New York, United States, August 2024 – Vydia Mangal has taken on the role of Director, Human Resources Business Partner at Long Island Rail Road (LIRR). In this capacity, Vydia will be responsible for leading strategic HR initiatives and fostering a collaborative work environment within one of North America’s busiest commuter railroads.
Career Journey: Before joining LIRR, Vydia was the Assistant Director of People Services at Equinox Hotels for approximately 1.5 years. Here, she excelled in recruiting, onboarding, and enhancing employee engagement within the hospitality industry.
Prior to that, Vydia held various HR roles at IHG Hotels & Resorts for nearly 9 years, including Director of Human Resources at Hotel Indigo Lower East Side, where she focused on leadership and employee relations.
She began her HR career as a Human Resources Coordinator at Waldorf Astoria Hotel and has built a strong foundation in HR generalist and administrative duties through earlier roles at JPMorgan Chase and Old Navy.
The Long Island Rail Road (LIRR) is the oldest railroad in the U.S. still operating under its original name. It is the busiest commuter railroad in North America, serving over 301,000 customers daily across 735 trains. The LIRR’s extensive system covers over 700 miles of track on 11 different branches, connecting commuters to various locations across New York, including Montauk, Penn Station, and more.
