Greenville, North Carolina, United States, August 2024 – Christine James Coates has taken on the role of Senior Director, Human Resources at Thermo Fisher Scientific, where she will be responsible for leading HR initiatives that support the company’s mission to make the world healthier, cleaner, and safer.
Prior to this new role, Christine served as the Global Human Resources Director for Thermo Fisher Scientific’s Drug Products Division (DPD) from April 2022 to August 2024. In this role, she led HR strategies for a global division with over $2 billion in revenues and more than 10,000 employees across North America, Europe, and Asia Pacific.
Before her global role, she was the Human Resources Director within the same division, focusing on enabling customers to achieve significant impacts in health, safety, and environmental sustainability.
Christine’s earlier career includes significant roles at Unilever, where she was the Senior HR Business Partner for the North American Supply Chain, supporting 12 US factory locations. She also led the Personal Care HR and Talent Acquisition teams at Unilever and served as a Human Resources Manager in Raeford, North Carolina.
She also held the position of Regional Human Resource Manager at PaperWorks Industries, Inc., overseeing HR management across four manufacturing sites. Prior to that, Christine spent nearly eight years at Hyster-Yale Group, where she advanced to the role of Senior Manager Talent Acquisition at the corporate headquarters, after starting as an HR Manager.
