Noida, Uttar Pradesh, India, June 2026 — Paytm has appointed Tarun Bansal as Vice President & Business Head – Unsecured Consumer Finance. In his new role, he will lead the company’s unsecured consumer finance business with end-to-end responsibility for P&L management, portfolio management, product strategy, distribution, business growth, and strategic partnerships, supporting Paytm’s mission of expanding digital financial services across India.
With more than 19 years of experience spanning digital lending, fintech, banking, product management, business strategy, and financial inclusion, Tarun Bansal has built a distinguished career driving innovation in consumer and SME lending. His appointment reflects Paytm’s continued focus on strengthening its lending ecosystem and expanding its portfolio of digital credit solutions.
Prior to joining Paytm, Tarun served as Senior Vice President & Product Head – Business, Digital Lending and Platforms (Personal Loans) at Kotak Mahindra Bank. There, he built and led the business, product, and digital platform teams for unsecured personal loans, overdraft loans, and payday loans. He was responsible for managing P&L, scaling the lending portfolio, building new value streams, and developing digital platforms that enabled significant business growth.
Before Kotak Mahindra Bank, Tarun was Strategy & Business Development Lead at Affinidi, a Temasek-founded technology company, where he led initiatives leveraging decentralized identity networks to enable innovative lending and skill-matching solutions. Earlier, as Co-Founder & Product Head at ZikZuk Technologies Pvt. Ltd., he conceptualized and built an SME neobank platform focused on cash flow management, contextual lending, and connected banking. He also launched a co-branded Visa Infinite business credit card to help SMEs manage working capital and business expenses.
Earlier in his career, Tarun served as AVP – Strategy & Business Development at AuthBridge Research Services, where he established a financial services business unit, built digital lending and onboarding platforms, and developed API-driven solutions for banks, NBFCs, and fintech companies. He also spent more than five years at Davinta Technologies, helping transform the company from a SaaS fintech platform into a digital NBFC while building financial inclusion ecosystems and strategic partnerships with banks, NBFCs, and government institutions.
Tarun began his business leadership journey with Altimetrik India Pvt. Ltd., focusing on strategy and business development for financial services, before spending five years with Tech Mahindra, where he progressed from Software Engineer to Project Manager, leading large-scale technology delivery and client engagement initiatives across Australia.
Academically, Tarun holds a Master of Business Administration from Melbourne Business School and completed an MBA International Exchange program at the National University of Singapore, further strengthening his expertise in strategy, innovation, and global business leadership.
