Mumbai, Maharashtra, India, August 2026 — BNP Paribas has appointed Geraldine Soans Fernandes as Vice President – Leadership Hiring. In her new role, she will lead leadership hiring initiatives, strengthen executive talent acquisition strategies, and support the bank in attracting high-calibre leadership talent aligned with its long-term business priorities.
Geraldine brings over a decade of experience across executive search, leadership hiring, niche talent acquisition, recruitment consulting, sourcing, and senior-level talent advisory. Her career has been predominantly focused on identifying and engaging leadership talent, giving her extensive exposure to executive hiring mandates and senior stakeholder engagement.
Prior to joining BNP Paribas, Geraldine spent more than 10 years with EMA Partners India, where she progressed through six roles from Associate to Associate Director. She joined the executive search firm in 2015 and subsequently served as Associate Consultant, Consultant, Senior Consultant, Principal Consultant, and ultimately Associate Director. During this journey, she developed deep expertise in executive search and niche hiring while working on leadership mandates and helping organizations identify talent for critical positions.
Geraldine began building her HR experience through assignments with Alembic Pharmaceuticals Limited and Colgate-Palmolive, where she worked as a Winter Intern and HR Intern, respectively. She holds a PGDM in Human Resources Management/Personnel Administration from SIES College of Management Studies.
Her appointment at BNP Paribas marks a transition from executive search consulting to an in-house leadership talent mandate within a global banking organization. Her extensive search experience and understanding of senior talent markets will support BNP Paribas as it continues to strengthen its leadership pipeline and talent capabilities.
