Mumbai, Maharashtra, India, August 2026 — Mahindra Group has appointed Shveta Arya as Group Chief Strategy Officer, effective September 15, 2026. She will report to Anish Shah, Group CEO & Managing Director, Mahindra Group, and will lead the Group’s strategic agenda across businesses as Mahindra continues to strengthen its long-term growth, transformation, and portfolio priorities.
Shveta brings more than 23 years of experience spanning corporate strategy, business leadership, P&L management, mergers and acquisitions, commercial operations, consulting, and technology. She joins Mahindra after a decade-long career with Cummins India, where she most recently served as Managing Director – Cummins India Limited and also held responsibility as Business Head – Power Systems.
During her tenure at Cummins India, Shveta progressed through several leadership roles including Head – Strategy, Business Head – Distribution Business, Business Head – Power Systems, and ultimately Managing Director. As Head of Strategy, she led the company’s strategy and growth office, while her later business leadership roles expanded her responsibilities across P&L management, sales, service, customer support, and business growth. She also served on the boards of Cummins Sales & Service Pvt. Ltd. and Valvoline Cummins Ltd.
Before joining Cummins, Shveta spent nearly five years with Thomas Cook India Limited, where she served as Vice President – Strategy and earlier as AVP – Strategy & Commercial. Her responsibilities included defining and driving strategic initiatives across business units, leading M&A transactions across geographies, managing commercial and financial activities, and taking P&L responsibility for businesses including airport operations, remittances, and online foreign exchange.
Earlier in her career, Shveta worked with A.T. Kearney as an Associate and Senior Business Analyst, building a strong foundation in strategic consulting and business transformation. She began her professional journey as a Software Engineer at Infosys Technologies Ltd., after which she moved into strategy and consulting. She also completed a summer internship with Accenture.
Shveta holds a PGDM from the Indian Institute of Management Ahmedabad (IIM Ahmedabad). Her combination of consulting, corporate strategy, P&L leadership, and operating experience positions her well to shape Mahindra Group’s strategic priorities across its diversified portfolio.
