Algeria, October 2024 – Samir Bouabba has been appointed as the Subregion Managing Director for North Africa and Country Managing Director for Algeria at Siemens Energy. Samir brings a wealth of experience in the energy sector, particularly across North Africa, where his leadership and expertise will drive Siemens Energy’s mission towards a more sustainable and resilient energy future. His appointment is poised to enhance Siemens Energy’s presence in the region, continuing to deliver innovative energy solutions and unlocking new opportunities for growth.

Before joining Siemens Energy, Samir Bouabba served as the Energy Transition Value Stream Leader at Cevital SPA for nearly 9 months, where he played a critical role in overseeing six factories and driving energy transition initiatives. His leadership focused on improving processes, fostering collaboration, and enhancing customer experience with innovative solutions.

Prior to Cevital, Samir had a brief tenure as an Executive Manager at GE Vernova in late 2023, where he contributed to strategic energy projects. Before that, he spent over 8 years at General Electric Algeria Turbines, where he held various key positions including Chairman & Chief Executive Officer and Executive General Manager. His time at GE was marked by significant contributions to energy projects across Algeria, where he led organizational strategies and financial governance.

Samir also served as the NAF Financial Service Leader for General Electric from 2011 to 2015, where he oversaw financial services across Libya, Algeria, Morocco, and Tunisia. His earlier roles included positions such as Chief Accountant and Finance Team Leader at GE and Accounting Manager at Algerie Telecom Mobilis SPA.
