South Africa – November 2024 – Emelia Abotsi has joined Fuchs Electronics Pty Ltd as Chief Human Resources Officer. In her new role, Emelia will lead HR strategies to further strengthen Fuchs Electronics’ innovative culture within the Reunert Group, a recognized leader in applied electronics, ICT, and engineering solutions.
Prior to joining Fuchs Electronics, Emelia served as People Lead (Executive) for the CIB CE’s Office, COO, Legal, Strategy & Business Transformation, ESG, and FRM departments at Absa Group for over seven years. There, she excelled in driving strategic HR initiatives, encompassing culture change, performance management, organizational design, and succession planning.
Previously, Emelia was the General Manager of Human Resources at McCormick & Company, where she oversaw HR operations for the South African region. Her leadership focused on talent acquisition, workforce planning, and HR transformation.
At Edcon, Emelia held the role of Divisional HR Manager for Merchandise Logistics & Corporate, leading a team to support a complex HR landscape with responsibilities in employee relations, compliance, and HR strategy across various business units.
Earlier in her career, Emelia served as a Human Resource Transformation Specialist at Tenova Pyromet, managing broad-based black economic empowerment initiatives and change management, alongside roles in HR consulting at Deloitte & Touche South Africa and Edcon (CNA), where she honed her expertise in performance management, recruitment, and career development.
