Chicago, United States – November 2024 – Jessica Blom has been appointed as Senior Director, Business Human Resources, Medical Affairs and Health Impact at AbbVie. In her new role, Jessica will lead HR strategies for AbbVie’s Medical Affairs and Health Impact divisions, collaborating with key stakeholders to support AbbVie’s mission to advance patient care through innovation and impact-driven solutions.
Before this new appointment, Jessica was the Global Human Resources Business Partner Director, R&D at AbbVie, where she led HR initiatives for the Regulatory Affairs and Quality Assurance functions, contributing to AbbVie’s leadership in the pharmaceutical industry. Her work included strategic support for the R&D Leadership Team, enhancing HR partnerships across key regulatory areas.
Prior to this, Jessica served as Business Human Resources Director, Corporate Staff Functions, where she partnered with AbbVie’s C-Suite, supporting workforce planning, organizational design, and cultural transformation during the Allergan integration. She was honored with the 2021 Significant Achievement Award for her work in equity, equality, diversity, and inclusion (EEDI) and received AbbVie’s One HR Award for her exceptional leadership.
Jessica’s career at AbbVie began in Business Human Resources, U.S. Commercial, where she supported HR functions for various U.S. commercial divisions. She has also held roles such as Director, Oncology Training and Director, Specialty Training Sales Excellence, where she enhanced training programs for oncology, HCV, and neuroscience teams, and led initiatives to drive sales excellence.
