Mumbai, Maharashtra, India – November 2024 – Croma, the consumer durables and electronics retail brand of Infiniti Retail Ltd., a Tata Group company, has appointed Shibashish Roy as its new Chief Executive Officer. This leadership transition is part of a strategic succession plan, with Avijit Mitra, the current Managing Director and CEO, set to retire in early 2025. Mitra will remain on the Board to support a smooth handover.
Roy, previously the Deputy CEO at Croma, has overseen essential functions including store operations, eCommerce, marketing, buying, merchandising, and technology. His promotion reflects Croma’s vision to further enhance its omnichannel capabilities and customer experience, aligning the brand with evolving market demands. The Board, along with Mitra’s continued guidance, anticipates that Roy’s leadership will strengthen Croma’s position in the competitive consumer electronics market and support the brand’s nationwide expansion.
Roy joined Croma in 2021 as Chief Business Officer – eCommerce and Marketing. His impact in this role led to his promotion to Chief Operating Officer in 2023, where he further strengthened operational strategies.
Before joining Croma, Roy’s career at the Tata Group spanned multiple leadership roles. His tenure included pivotal positions within Tata Administrative Services (TAS), such as Vice President – Group Digital and Assistant VP – Strategy & Business Development, where he managed group-wide digital initiatives and strategic projects. Roy also held senior roles at Tata Capital and Tata Motors, developing expertise in business strategy, digital transformation, and operations.
