Stephanie Briggs Appointed as Chief People Officer at The Humane Society of the United States

Washington, District of Columbia, United States, December 2024 – Stephanie Briggs has been named the Chief People Officer at The Humane Society of the United States (HSUS). In this capacity, Stephanie will lead the organization’s efforts in fostering a thriving workplace culture while supporting HSUS’s critical mission of ending animal suffering and cruelty on a global scale.

Stephanie’s journey with HSUS spans over three years, during which she has made significant contributions. Most recently, she served as Interim Chief People Officer, where she successfully guided the organization’s HR strategies and policies across its diverse family of organizations. Prior to this, as Senior Director, Talent Management & Culture, she was instrumental in enhancing talent development initiatives and driving cultural transformations to align with HSUS’s vision.

Before joining HSUS, Stephanie held the position of Deputy Director and People & Culture Business Partner at Definitive Logic, where she provided strategic HR leadership to drive organizational success. Earlier, she spent over six years at Washington Gas, serving as Director, Talent Management, where she crafted long-term talent strategies and implemented diversity and inclusion initiatives. Her tenure also included roles such as Manager of Talent Acquisition and Development and Supervisor of Organization and Employee Development, showcasing her expertise in leadership development and employee engagement.

Stephanie’s professional foundation was further enriched by her early career experiences as a Claims Adjuster at AIG, Loss Prevention Consultant at Amerisure Insurance, and Safety Coordinator at CANAM, where she honed her skills in safety management and loss prevention.
