Mumbai, Maharashtra, India, April 2025 — Abbott India has announced the promotion of Anushree Kunhambu (She/Her) to the role of Associate Director – New Product Introduction and Therapy Area Strategy. With this elevation, Anushree also joins the Senior Management team of the organization, marking a significant milestone in her professional journey within the healthcare major.
Since joining Abbott in 2021, Anushree has held the position of Head of Strategy & Portfolio, where she played a pivotal role in shaping the company’s strategic direction and innovation roadmap. Her leadership has been instrumental in aligning portfolio development with long-term business goals and identifying therapy expansion opportunities that support sustainable growth in a dynamic healthcare environment.
Prior to Abbott, Anushree served as Healthcare Lead – India at GLG (Gerson Lehrman Group), where she brought strategic insights to healthcare clients across India. During her five-year tenure at GLG, she led engagements that bridged critical knowledge gaps and enabled evidence-based decisions across pharmaceutical and healthcare domains.
Earlier in her career, Anushree was part of the Corporate Strategy and Global Business Development & Licensing team at Cipla, one of India’s leading pharmaceutical firms. During this time, she gained deep exposure to cross-border licensing, commercial evaluations, and strategic partnerships, further cementing her expertise in business development and healthcare strategy.
With more than a decade of experience at the intersection of strategy, healthcare consulting, and innovation, Anushree brings a multidimensional perspective to her new role at Abbott. Her promotion is a testament to her strategic thinking, operational acumen, and commitment to excellence in advancing access to new therapies.
