Newmarket, Ontario, Canada, April 2025 — Katie Gibson has taken on the role of Director, Talent and Culture at Util-Assist Inc., a leading provider of data-driven and technology-powered solutions for the utility industry. In her new position, Katie will oversee the development and implementation of HR strategies, foster a strong organizational culture, and lead people initiatives aligned with Util-Assist’s growth and innovation goals.
Before joining Util-Assist, Katie Gibson served as Director, People, Culture and Diversity at Mevotech, where she led the organization through a transformative phase of cultural integration and people strategy alignment. Over nearly four years, she managed a robust HR team and launched numerous impactful initiatives including the DEI Committee, employee engagement frameworks, leadership coaching programs, and a forward-looking talent strategy for a hybrid workforce.
Earlier at Mevotech, she held successive leadership roles including Manager, Total Rewards and Talent Development and Manager, Total Rewards and Training. During this tenure, she implemented performance development programs, led compensation benchmarking using the Hay Method, introduced employee engagement surveys, and launched MevoUniversity—an internal online learning platform designed to enhance organizational capability and foster a learning culture.
Prior to Mevotech, Katie was Manager, Talent Acquisition and Employee Engagement at Global Furniture Group, where she reported directly to the VP of HR. She led end-to-end recruitment for over 1,000 employees and designed a modern performance review system. She also took charge of employee morale through various company-wide engagement activities. Before this, at Inscape, she transitioned from HR roles to a Product Manager position, showcasing her adaptability and strong project execution skills.
Katie began her HR career in administrative and coordinator roles at Inscape, Compclaim Legal Services, and the Department of National Defence, where she gained foundational experience in benefits administration, policy development, employee engagement, and recruitment. Over the years, her career has been marked by her hands-on leadership, strategic planning, and an innate ability to drive people-centric transformation.
