Dubai, United Arab Emirates, April 2025 — Sameer S Sharma has been appointed as Chief Marketing Officer at Jindal Shadeed Iron and Steel, a strategic leadership move aligning with the company’s focus on expanding its global steel footprint. With nearly three decades of international experience in steel marketing, procurement, and enterprise leadership, Sameer brings a deep understanding of integrated operations and global market dynamics.
Before joining Jindal Shadeed, Sameer served as Chief Executive Officer at AJ Steel Pipes, where he drove operational realignment and performance strategy in the GCC market. Prior to that, he was Chief Marketing Officer at LIBERTY Steel Group, overseeing sales and product strategy across Europe and acting as Product Director for Hot Rolled and Cold Rolled products.
At LIBERTY Ostrava, he led the commercial division of a 2.5 million ton integrated steel plant, where he also managed supply chain planning, scheduling, and shipping. His earlier tenure at Algoma Steel Inc. in Canada saw him ascend to the role of Head of Procurement, responsible for a $1B+ portfolio and operational innovations in sourcing and vendor strategy.
Over his 16-year journey with Essar Steel, Sameer held several senior roles across Europe, Canada, and the UAE, including Managing Director of Essar Steel GmbH and General Manager for the Middle East. His leadership played a vital role during critical financial and strategic transitions, including navigating the CCAA process and US Section 232 regulations while maintaining and expanding revenue channels.
In his new role, Sameer will lead marketing for the 3 million MT integrated steel mill at Jindal Shadeed, covering billets, rebars, and wire rods. He will also oversee customer retention, product strategy, and market expansion, supporting the company’s mission to be a global leader in sustainable steel.
