Emphasis will increase on addressing skill gaps in rapidly changing industries from High risk industries like manufacturing and IT to medium risk like Retail , Finance and Banking to low risk of healthcare. HR mandates will increasing ask of the function to focus on ensuring adaptability to global disruptions and ethical governance, aligning organizational purpose with societal impact.
What are most pressing talent challenge in next 5-10 years in different sectors
Irrespective of sectors talent challenges will share common themes. In technology, the race for AI, cybersecurity, and quantum computing expertise will intensify, with innovation outpacing upskilling. Healthcare faces aging workforce shortages and burnout, requiring robust retention and global talent pipelines. Manufacturing and energy sectors will struggle with transitioning to green skills and automation, demanding reskilling at huge scale. Retail and hospitality will grapple with high turnover and gig economy integration. Across all sectors, attracting diverse talent, bridging generational expectations, and combating skill obsolescence in a digital-first world will be critical.
