With over 17 years of experience in intellectual property law—including trademarks, copyrights, brand enforcement, and cross-border litigation—Ambalika brings a rare combination of in-house leadership and top-tier law firm expertise. Her most recent role was as Global Lead Counsel – Trademarks & Copyrights at UPL, where she managed a global IP portfolio of over 30,000 assets across 195+ countries. Her contributions spanned cutting-edge areas such as AI-generated content regulation, international brand adoption, conflict resolution, and global brand protection operations.

Ambalika’s legal journey has included senior roles at GNP Legal, ANAND AND ANAND, Kochhar & Co., Lall & Sethi, and Kaden Boriss Global, where she advised on high-stakes intellectual property, fashion, media, and entertainment law. Her career reflects a consistent focus on aligning IP strategy with commercial innovation—building brand resilience while enabling market agility.

Her appointment at Unilever comes at a time when brand trust, digital transformation, and global consistency are more crucial than ever. As a regional leader, she will be responsible for harmonizing trademark practices, leading enforcement programs, managing high-profile disputes, and strengthening Unilever’s global IP reputation.

An alumna of Law Centre-II, University of Delhi, OP Jindal Global University, and currently pursuing a master’s in business laws from National Law School of India University, Ambalika’s academic background reinforces her well-rounded legal, strategic, and business understanding.
