In her new role, she will lead the strategic protection of Unilever’s brand assets across multiple high-growth regions, reinforcing the company’s commitment to safeguarding its portfolio of iconic global and local brands.
With over 17 years of experience in intellectual property law—including trademarks, copyrights, brand enforcement, and cross-border litigation—Ambalika brings a rare combination of in-house leadership and top-tier law firm expertise. Her most recent role was as Global Lead Counsel – Trademarks & Copyrights at UPL, where she managed a global IP portfolio of over 30,000 assets across 195+ countries. Her contributions spanned cutting-edge areas such as AI-generated content regulation, international brand adoption, conflict resolution, and global brand protection operations.
Ambalika’s legal journey has included senior roles at GNP Legal, ANAND AND ANAND, Kochhar & Co., Lall & Sethi, and Kaden Boriss Global, where she advised on high-stakes intellectual property, fashion, media, and entertainment law. Her career reflects a consistent focus on aligning IP strategy with commercial innovation—building brand resilience while enabling market agility.
Her appointment at Unilever comes at a time when brand trust, digital transformation, and global consistency are more crucial than ever. As a regional leader, she will be responsible for harmonizing trademark practices, leading enforcement programs, managing high-profile disputes, and strengthening Unilever’s global IP reputation.
