Bethesda, Maryland, United States, July 2025 – Jon Rickers has joined Enviva as Senior Vice President and Chief Human Resources Officer, bringing with him over two decades of strategic HR leadership across industrial, energy, and consulting sectors. In his new role, Jon will lead global human resources for Enviva’s 1,200+ associates, developing and executing people strategies that foster a high-performance culture while enabling the company’s mission to drive the global energy transition.
Prior to joining Enviva, Jon served as Chief People Officer at ABX for nearly five years. There, he built the organization’s HR strategy from the ground up, optimizing HR systems and structures to deliver over $18M in annualized savings. He also spearheaded a major cultural transformation under the “One ABX” initiative and restructured the leadership team to align with agile, data-driven decision-making.
Since 2019, Jon has also been the Founder and Principal of PEG Consulting, a firm that specializes in transactions, talent, and transformation strategies. Through PEG, he has supported organizations in areas such as M&A integration, performance management, employee engagement, and people strategy design.
Earlier, Jon was Senior Vice President and CHRO at EnPro Industries, where he implemented enterprise-wide HR harmonization across 60 global locations and played a key role in three successful acquisitions. He also held a dual HR leadership role for Technetics and EnPro Europe, leading change management initiatives, global talent integrations, and GDPR compliance across 20+ sites.
His earlier career includes HR leadership roles at STEMCO, ITT, and West Corporation, where he built deep experience in organizational design, cultural transformation, and operational excellence across global teams.
