Basel, Switzerland, July 2025 — Mukul Mehta has been appointed as the Head of BPA (Business Planning & Analysis), Digital Finance, and Tax at Novartis, based at the company’s global headquarters in Basel, Switzerland. In this strategic role, Mukul will lead the integration of digital tools with financial planning, advanced analytics, and global tax compliance to drive innovation and efficiency across Novartis’ financial operations.
Having spent over 15 years with Novartis, Mukul brings a wealth of experience across geographies and financial functions. Prior to this appointment, he served as CFO International, where he led financial strategies across emerging and mature markets. Earlier, he was Chief Financial Officer, Novartis Pharmaceuticals, and CFO, Novartis Business Services, overseeing critical finance operations and driving transformation initiatives.
Mukul also held the role of Regional CFO for Pharma Europe, as well as Country CFO positions in France, Poland, and Norway, where he was instrumental in steering finance teams through complex regulatory, commercial, and operational landscapes. His earlier roles at Novartis included leadership of BPA teams in Global Development, managing multibillion-dollar R&D budgets and leading strategic planning projects.
In his new capacity, Mukul will spearhead digital finance innovation, enhance data-driven decision-making, and strengthen global financial governance at Novartis—a timely move as the organization amplifies its focus on agility, automation, and digital-first transformation.
