Jonathan Cheeseman Appointed as Head of People at DEA Specialised Airborne Operations

London, United Kingdom, September 2025 – DEA Specialised Airborne Operations has appointed Jonathan Cheeseman as its new Head of People. In this capacity, Jonathan will lead the organization’s people strategy, focusing on talent acquisition, organizational development, and workforce transformation to support DEA’s specialized aerial data acquisition services and global operations.

Jonathan most recently served as Director of Corporate Services at Bishop Grosseteste University, where he was responsible for strategic human resources, organizational development, and business transformation. Prior to this role, he held senior leadership positions at the same university, including Director of People and Infrastructure and Director of Human Resources, where he played a pivotal role in reshaping HR strategy and people processes.

Earlier, Jonathan was with Colas Ltd for over four years, where he progressed from Resourcing & Talent Manager to Head of HR, overseeing workforce planning, compensation, benefits, and strategic HR initiatives for the company’s operations across the UK.

He also contributed to sector-wide workforce strategy as Chair of the People & Careers Group at the Highways Term Maintenance Association (HTMA), driving talent and career initiatives for the highways industry.

Jonathan’s career began with HR leadership roles at Chestertons and the UK Ministry of Defence, including serving as Senior HR Advisor RAF, following his early career as an HR Administrator in the Royal Air Force. These formative experiences grounded his expertise in legislation, employee relations, and organizational effectiveness.
