Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, September 2025 – SMC Healthcare has appointed Yahya Alamari as its new Chief Human Resources Officer. In his new role, he will oversee HR strategy, workforce planning, organizational transformation, and capability development across one of the Kingdom’s most prominent healthcare providers, ensuring alignment with its mission of delivering world-class medical services.
Yahya most recently served as Public Policy Lead at CIPD (Chiltern Office) in the United Kingdom, where he focused on aligning public policy engagement with CIPD’s purpose and strategy. He was responsible for coordinating feedback, engaging members in policy discussions, and strengthening the institute’s influence and impact.
Before that, he was Executive Director of Healthcare National Workforce Planning at the Saudi Commission for Health Specialties (SCFHS). In this capacity, he spearheaded major transformation initiatives impacting more than 270,000 Ministry of Health employees. His contributions included building national roadmaps for workforce development, launching international benchmarking projects, addressing workforce supply-demand gaps, and driving initiatives to reduce burnout in the nursing profession.
Earlier, Yahya was Group Chief Human Resources Officer at ASTRA Group, where he built a centralized People Services Center, introduced a shared services model, and successfully led nationalization programs across subsidiaries in Saudi Arabia and other regions. His initiatives elevated Saudization levels and optimized workforce performance, with measurable returns on investment.
He also served on the Executive Committee of the Institute of Directors (IoD) Berkshire Branch in the UK, promoting governance, innovation, and professional development among regional business leaders.
Earlier in his career, Yahya held senior HR leadership roles with KPMG in Saudi Arabia and MESA, where he transformed HR into a business-aligned strategic function, launched graduate and women’s development programs, and introduced advanced performance management and HR systems. He also gained HR operations experience with ArjoHuntleigh, DHL Express UK, Schlumberger, W.T Sea-Air Ltd, and Iron Mountain, where he built strong foundations in HR policies, compliance, and employee engagement.
