Reston, Virginia, United States, September 2025 – NextNav has announced the appointment of Tim Gray as its new Chief Financial Officer. In his role, Tim will oversee all aspects of the company’s financial strategy and operations, supporting NextNav’s mission to deliver accurate, reliable, and resilient 3D positioning, navigation, and timing (PNT) solutions.
Tim joins NextNav after more than a decade at Anterix, where he served as Chief Financial Officer for over 11 years. At Anterix, he was responsible for Finance, HR, and IT, and played a key role in raising $300M through 144A and follow-on offerings while leading the company’s successful listing on Nasdaq.
Previously, Tim held senior finance leadership roles at MedImmune, the Specialty Care division of AstraZeneca, where he managed financial operations for R&D, commercial, and operations units with revenues exceeding $1.6 billion. During his tenure, he drove cost reductions, led integration efforts, and completed high-profile business development deals.
Earlier in his career, Tim served as Vice President of Finance at AOL, providing financial leadership during a period of significant transformation, and as Director of Corporate FP&A at Sprint (Nextel), where he introduced a company-wide Balanced Scorecard and developed compensation and commissions frameworks. He began his career as an Auditor at Deloitte and also served as a 1st Lieutenant in the U.S. Army Reserve, gaining early leadership and financial discipline experience.
