Dhaka, Bangladesh, October 2025 – RAK Ceramics Bangladesh, a subsidiary of one of the world’s largest ceramics brands, has announced the appointment of Mohammad Riyad Hossain as its Head of Human Resources. With more than two decades of diversified HR leadership experience across manufacturing, FMCG, e-commerce, and industrial sectors, Riyad will lead RAK Ceramics Bangladesh’s HR strategy, driving organizational transformation, talent development, and employee engagement initiatives across the company’s growing operations.
Before joining RAK Ceramics, Mohammad Riyad Hossain served as a Part-Time HR Advisor at Excellent Tiles and Ceramic Industries Limited, where he contributed to HR policy design, learning and development, performance management systems, and leadership coaching for CXOs. Alongside, he shared his academic expertise as Part-Time Faculty in the EMBA programs at both University of Liberal Arts Bangladesh (ULAB) and BRAC Business School, teaching courses in Leadership, Organizational Change, and HR Planning. His dual engagement across academia and consulting underscores his deep commitment to nurturing future HR leaders and promoting strategic HR transformation.
Previously, Riyad served as Head of Human Resources at Transcom Beverages Limited (TBL) — the exclusive PepsiCo franchise for Bangladesh. At TBL, he was part of the management committee and led critical HR functions such as manpower planning, industrial relations, policy development, employer branding, and learning and development. His leadership played a key role in strengthening TBL’s organizational culture and maintaining its status as PepsiCo’s globally recognized bottling partner.
Before Transcom, Riyad was Chief Human Resources Officer (CHRO) at Daraz Bangladesh, the leading e-commerce marketplace in South Asia. In this pivotal role, he worked closely with the Managing Director and CXOs to align HR strategy with business goals, lead large-scale organizational design, and drive talent management and performance initiatives through KPI-based systems and SAP ERP. His time at Daraz was marked by successful digital HR transformation and enhanced employee engagement across business units.
Earlier, he held leadership positions as Director of People & Culture at ShopUp, Group CHRO at Metrocem Group, and Executive Director – HR & OD at Palmal Group of Industries Ltd., overseeing end-to-end HR strategy, performance management, and organizational development. His earlier tenures at DBL Group, Partex Star Group, and Chakri.com further strengthened his expertise in HR transformation, employer branding, and workforce capability building.
Riyad began his professional journey with APL, serving for eight years as a Senior Analyst before transitioning into HR leadership. He holds an MBA in Human Resources Management from North South University, where he graduated with a perfect 4.00 GPA, and has completed advanced certification in HR from the Indian Institute of Management Calcutta (IIM Calcutta).
