Salt Lake City, Utah, United States, November 2025 – Jacobsen Construction, one of the nation’s top general contractors, has announced the appointment of Stephen Hunt as Director, Corporate Talent Development. With over 15 years of diverse experience in learning, leadership development, and organizational capability building, Stephen will lead Jacobsen’s enterprise-wide talent initiatives aimed at developing a high-performing and future-ready workforce.
In his new role, Stephen will oversee the design and implementation of strategic learning programs, leadership development frameworks, and employee engagement initiatives. His focus will be on empowering individuals and teams to drive excellence across the company’s projects in healthcare, education, technology, and civic infrastructure.
Before joining Jacobsen Construction, Stephen Hunt served as Manager of Training and Development at Gray, a global design-build and engineering firm headquartered in Lexington, Kentucky. Over his three-year tenure, he developed and scaled organizational learning programs that supported leadership capability, technical excellence, and performance improvement across multiple locations.
Prior to Gray, Stephen was Senior Manager of Talent Development at AppHarvest, where he played a key role in cultivating leadership readiness and workforce engagement for the company’s high-tech indoor farming operations. His work contributed to building a learning-driven culture that blended sustainability, innovation, and employee growth.
Earlier in his career, Stephen held multiple learning and development roles at Mercedes-Benz USA, including Program Lead for Professional Development and Corporate Training Specialist. During this period, he was instrumental in building leadership pathways, onboarding programs, and professional capability models to support the automaker’s strategic expansion in North America.
Stephen’s early career was rooted in education, where he spent nearly a decade as a science teacher and athletics coach across schools in Kentucky and Minnesota. His hands-on teaching experience—paired with his passion for mentoring—served as the foundation for his career in corporate learning. He also worked briefly at RSM US LLP as Learning and Talent Systems Lead, overseeing the implementation of enterprise learning systems and digital training infrastructure.
