Florham Park, New Jersey, United States, November 2025 — A.P. Moller – Maersk has announced the appointment of Fatima Costa as Head of People Relations, North America. In her new role, Fatima will lead a team of People Relations Partners across the region, championing a positive, compliant, and inclusive work environment while guiding leaders on people strategy, policy alignment, and organizational planning to support Maersk’s continued transformation and growth across the integrated logistics landscape.
Fatima’s journey at Maersk spans more than 18 years, where she has played an integral role in strengthening the people function across multiple business units and regions. Her leadership has been instrumental in shaping engagement programs, talent development pathways, and employee experience frameworks, ensuring alignment between business priorities and people-first values across North America.
Prior to her current role, Fatima served as Head of People Partnering – Commercial and Corporate Functions, where she led and coached People Partners supporting a diverse set of strategic functions. She enabled leaders across HR calendar processes, championed change management initiatives, and drove organizational optimization to enhance operational effectiveness and leadership readiness.
Earlier, Fatima held the role of Senior People Partner Manager – North America, where she oversaw talent development and HR integration projects, supported post-merger organizational transitions, and led people support for multiple business segments, including Product Logistics & Services, Sealand, Legal, and Maersk Services. Her efforts contributed to building unified people practices across large-scale and geographically distributed teams.
Fatima’s earlier experiences at Maersk include progressively senior HR roles across various business units, where she focused on workforce engagement, compliance, performance frameworks, and cross-functional HR enablement. Her foundation in people strategy and employee experience continues to shape her leadership approach as she steps into this new role supporting the company’s evolving organizational priorities.
