Darren brings over 15 years of experience in human resources, recruitment, people development, and education leadership — a blend of expertise that will play a vital role in supporting Cleaner Group’s rapid growth and sustainability-driven mission.
In his new role, Darren will lead the company’s people and culture agenda, focusing on talent acquisition, employee engagement, learning and development, and organizational culture. He will collaborate with business leaders across all divisions to ensure Cleaner Group remains a high-performance, values-driven organization that attracts, develops, and retains exceptional talent aligned with its mission to accelerate the transition to a cleaner, electrified future.
Before joining Cleaner Group, Darren served as Senior HR Recruitment Consultant at Ashley Kate HR & Finance, where he led full-cycle recruitment and business development initiatives across multiple sectors. His expertise in workforce strategy, client partnerships, and leadership advisory helped organizations strengthen their HR and finance functions across the UK. Earlier, he worked as Quality and Compliance Specialist at Derby College, developing quality assurance frameworks, driving performance improvement, and ensuring regulatory compliance through data-informed strategies.
Darren’s career journey also includes a rich foundation in education and welfare leadership. At Chesterfield Football Club, he served as Head of Education and Player Welfare, designing education programs, safeguarding frameworks, and welfare initiatives to support player development. Prior to that, he was Teacher of PE and Programme Leader at Saint Benedict Catholic Voluntary Academy, where he contributed to student well-being, inclusion, and professional growth through sports education and mentorship.
With his deep understanding of people leadership, compliance, and organizational development, Darren is set to play a pivotal role in shaping Cleaner Group’s people strategy and supporting its vision to create a cleaner, sustainable energy future.
