Mumbai, Maharashtra, India, November 2025 — Ashish Sehgal is reportedly set to join Times Network as its next Chief Executive Officer, in what is being seen as one of the most significant leadership moves in India’s broadcast and digital media industry this year. He is also expected to take on an extended mandate as Chief Growth Officer for Vineet Jain’s Times TV Network portfolio, strengthening the Group’s aggressive expansion agenda across television, digital, social, and new-age monetization pathways.
With a career spanning over three decades, Ashish Sehgal is widely regarded as one of India’s most influential media revenue architects, known for building future-ready monetization ecosystems, leading large-scale digital transformation efforts, and pioneering integrated sales models that have reshaped the industry.
In his most recent role at Zee Entertainment Enterprises Limited (ZEEL), Mr. Sehgal served as Chief Growth Officer – Broadcast & Digital, leading strategic revenue growth across 50 domestic TV channels, OTT (Zee5), International markets, Government sales, and brand solution verticals. He championed digital-first monetization, built unified revenue frameworks, drove CTV and social monetization, and led AI-enabled innovations for future-proofing revenue. He also shaped ZEEL’s event monetization, IP-driven sponsorships, and large entertainment properties, while scaling sports assets such as the ILT20 Cricket League.
Within ZEEL, he also served as Chief Operating Officer at Zee Unimedia Ltd., where he integrated ZEEL and ZMCL sales teams, ensured business continuity during a challenging phase, and established the Innovation Studios team—now a market leader in advertiser-centric IP creation. His earlier tenure as Chief Sales Officer and Network Sales Head further solidified his standing as one of the industry’s most influential commercial leaders.
Before joining ZEEL, Mr. Sehgal spent over five years at Star India Pvt. Ltd., where he served as National Head – Star Gold and played a pivotal role in the channel’s launch and nationwide expansion. He drove significant innovations in monetization, including impact selling, premiere monetization, and the shift from ER-based deals to time-band-based revenue models. He also managed the sales portfolio for Channel V, introducing large properties such as VIVA Pop Stars.
Earlier in his career, he worked with Buena Vista TV, contributing to the launch of ESPN and the Hallmark Channel in India, managing regional sales, and monetizing marquee sporting events including the Sahara Cup.
Mr. Sehgal began his media career with the Times Group, contributing to the launch of India’s first FM channel and driving concept-based advertising solutions that helped expand India’s audio advertising ecosystem.
Across his 30+ year journey, Ashish Sehgal has consistently demonstrated a rare combination of industry foresight, revenue excellence, digital transformation leadership, and the ability to scale high-impact commercial organizations.
