Vimeo Announces Philip Moyer as New CEO to Propel Company into AI Video Era

NEW YORK, (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — Vimeo (NASDAQ: VMEO), the leading video platform for business applications, has officially named Philip Moyer as its new Chief Executive Officer and a member of the Board of Directors, starting April 8, 2024. The announcement was made on April 4, 2024, as the company prepares to enter a new phase focused on artificial intelligence-driven video solutions. Adam Gross, who has been serving as the Interim CEO, will continue his involvement with Vimeo as a Board member.

Philip Moyer, who will be taking over the reins as CEO, has an extensive background in technology and business. He previously held high-level positions at Google Cloud and Amazon Web Services, and was also the CEO of two financial technology firms. His wide-ranging experience is expected to be a vital asset in Vimeo’s strategic expansion into AI-driven video technologies. Moyer commented on his appointment, stating, “I’m thrilled to join as CEO of Vimeo, a platform that revolutionizes how millions engage with video content worldwide. We will continue to innovate and elevate our offerings to push the envelope of digital storytelling, ensuring Vimeo remains synonymous with excellence and creativity for our community members and customers. In addition to the leadership update, Vimeo also outlined its plans for the upcoming earnings report. The company will post its first-quarter results for 2024 on May 6, after market close, and host a live video event to discuss the financials, which will include an opportunity for stakeholders to engage directly with Philip Moyer.
